009 The example of Hobbes can help to explain why political philosophers have so rarely made a direct impact on political events. 

025 그들은 정치를 철학적 관점에서 바라보기 때문에 정치인과 일반 대중 모두가 지니는 갖가지 관습적 믿음들에 도전하지 않을 수 없다. 
009 Because they look at politics from a philosophical perspective, they are bound to challenge many of the conventional beliefs held both by politicians and by the public at large. 

정치를 철학적 관점에서 바라본다는 것은 관습적 믿음들에 도전하는 것.
perspective는 관점이라고 해도 되고 전망이라고 해도 된다. 관점은 view point. 

025 이러한 믿음들에 대해 정치철학자들은 사람들이 이러쿵저러쿵 말할 때 그것이 의미하는 바가 정확히 무엇인지, 그들이 자신들의 확신에 대해서는 어떤 증거를 가지고 있는지, 그들이 자신들의 믿음이 도전받을 때 어떻게 정당화하는지를 물으며 세밀히 살피게 된다. 
010 They put these beliefs under the microscope, asking exactly what people mean when they say such and such, what evidence they have for their convictions, how they would justify their beliefs if challenged to do so. 

의미, 증거, 정당화가 철학적 관점을 구성하는 것이다.
